The Cornerstone at Bishan Park

Cornerstone's homemade french fries

Tori katzu don - fried chicken cutlet with egg over a bowl of rice and miso soup

Squid ink pasta - the pasta is homemade!

It's saturday and it's another food adventure for us once again. We stay very very near the Bishan Park and so we thought to try the restaurants at the park. Another al fresco dining for us and we loved it! It was not very humid so it's the best day to eat al fresco!

The restaurant feels very relaxed and homey. It helps that it's in the middle of the park so it's good to have a chat while enjoying the sight of nature.

We started with the french fries and it was good. I liked it. I like cheese so maybe that's why I am looking for a more cheesy taste of the sauce because it was not. But overall, I like it as they were crispy and they served it quite fast too!

I wanted to try their risotto, but man, the price is SGD 27! So maybe next time. Instead I ordered the pasta with squid ink (and of course, squid) just to try something different. I'm glad I did as it was tasty and very very good. Might be a little salty for others but it's just perfect for me!

Tori katzu don looked like something that you will see on a regular Japanese restaurant - which is fine - but I guess they could have tweaked it a little bit more just for it to become a little bit special.

Overall we did enjoy the food at The Cornerstone in Bishan Park, but risotto is still on my mind!
